Indoor Golf Simulator Room Size: Width, Depth and Height

Measure the whole swing and launch-monitor setup, not just the enclosure. See what our source-backed packages publish and what remains unverified.

There is no single minimum room size for every simulator

A package has several different footprints: its enclosure frame, room for the golfer's complete swing, the ball's path to the impact screen and the launch monitor's required position. Measuring only the screen is how an enclosure that fits on paper can become an unusable practice space.

For the SIG10 bundles in our catalog, the documented frame is 10'10" wide by 5' deep by 8'4" high. Many retailer package pages separately show 12' W × 12' D × 9' H as a minimum and 15' × 15' × 10' as a recommended room. Those numbers must still be checked against the exact monitor: the frame itself does not guarantee a sufficient full setup.

Measure width, depth and ceiling height separately

  1. Width: measure the clear wall-to-wall space at your intended hitting position, including a comfortable full swing and any left-handed users. Frame width is only one constraint.
  2. Depth: measure from the screen through the hitting position to the monitor and any safe space needed behind it. A behind-the-ball radar unit can require more room depth than the enclosure alone.
  3. Height: measure the lowest obstruction, not the nominal ceiling. Account for ceiling-mounted monitors, lights, beams, the tallest golfer and the clubs they will use.

Never assume a published minimum is a safety certification or that every player can swing comfortably at that exact dimension. Try the full swing in the actual room before ordering.

The Rapsodo MLM2PRO example combines the SIG10 room width and height with at least 6.5 feet of behind-the-ball spacing plus 8 feet of ball flight, producing 14.5 feet as a transparent lower-bound depth. Garmin R10 similarly combines the retailer's 15-foot R10 depth with the 12-foot SIG10 width. The Mevo Gen2 package lists a 12-foot general minimum but separately recommends 15+ feet of depth for radar performance. TrackMan iO publishes a mounting-height constraint without a complete room minimum on the listed package page.
